After going through the LibRetro site, I couldn't find one. https://docs.libretro.com has a list of all core compatibility. Responding late as this is a top Google result. That's the most current and update listed that I can find.

Just run RetroArch, open the Main Menu, go to Online Update > Content Downloader and select a system and look what is available for you. Have a look at these: Arcade: "Alien Arena.zip". Atari - 2600: "Sheep It Up.zip".

Ironically, Retroarch is also a frontend itself, for the libretro (retro library) project. Libretro = emulator software, known as cores, that skips UI, inputs, sound, shaders, fancy features like save state management, rewind, etc. Retroarch = the frontend that manages all that and uses libretro cores to load content.
What's better to use in 2023 between RetroArch and standalone
Jan 20, 2023 · Standalone. I tried RetroArch and it's nice to have an interface like that that you can organize. The video options are also nice. However I prefer to play on default settings without upscaling the games. That's why I am planning to use a CRT. I just feel like that's how PS1 games were supposed to be played.

Oct 25, 2024 · For Retroarch I'm just using the 30GB on Retail as I prefer the speed of the internal SSD Drive on the Xbox Series S and I was able to get quite a good amount of games despite the low storage space available on the drive.

Aug 19, 2022 · DirectX is a programming API used by Windows. DirectX 9.0c is a version of the API released in the early 2000s (if I recall correctly) and if you don't have it installed already RetroArch will need it to run properly. 9.0c was like the "Go To" version for Windows XP era.
