Your potential employer could pull a verification of employment to verify your work history, but they do not have a permissible purpose to pull a verification of income.

The Work Number is an employment verification system owned by Equifax. It allows employers to verify your employment history from jobs that use the service. Additionally, with your permission, they can also verify salary history as well. All employers do not use the service, so it may be missing some jobs.
