FreeCAD vs DesignSpark Mechanical ? - FreeCAD Forum
Dec 17, 2015 · The main thing to know about DesignSpark Mechanical is that it's not really free. Yes, the 3D modeling part of the software is free, but if you want to make 2D engineering drawings (like most engineers will) you have to buy the DesignSpark Mechanical Drawing add-on. I don't like the deceptive marketing they're doing.

Feb 3, 2020 · I have searched the forums and the FreeCad tool help file but cannot find what I am looking for. I am an old school drafter, pencil and paper, and CAD software is relatively new to me. I am trying to figure out how to set the scale of the drawing, to say 1/8, 1/2, 1:.25, etc. Currently I am only trying to work in the Draft workbench.

I have a prototype broken view mostly working. It is only handling vertical or horizontal breaks. I don't know if oblique breaks are used in real life, but they look difficult.

The full list in TurboCAD is: BMP, DGN, DWF, DWG, DXF, PLT, EPS, IGS, JPG, MTX, 3DS, SAT, SHX, STEP, STL, STP, WMF, WRL, WRZ, JPG, XLS. I know some of those are image or excel formats and not useful for what I need to do. KurtF.
